New Hire Checklist

We understand that your life is so much more than just your time at work. That’s why our total rewards package is diverse, comprehensive and full of benefits built to support you.

New Team Member Checklist

Explore your ECU Health Benefits Guide to better understand the benefits available for you and your family.

Review your medical expenses over the past year and estimate how much you will need to contribute to a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA). You must be enrolled in the Medical Savings Plan to participate in the HSA.

Gather this information before you enroll:

  • For you: Your ECU Health user ID (employee ID number) and password
  • For your dependents and beneficiaries: Social Security numbers, addresses and dates of birth

Verify (or update) your mailing address.

  • Go to myhr.ecuhealth.org
  • Enter your user ID (employee ID number) and password
  • Select the Benefits Enrollment tile (with bswift logo)
  • Enter your ECU Health email address and Employee Self Service password to begin your enrollment through the bswift enrollment platform
  • Elect or waive each benefit you are eligible for

If you do not wish to cover yourself and eligible dependents using our benefit offerings, log into our enrollment platform (bswift), designate beneficiaries where applicable and decline the remaining benefits. Remember, you must take action to make sure you have the coverage that is right for you and your family.

All team members will need to provide documentation to verify their covered dependents. Once benefits are submitted, bswift will provide instructions on how to upload dependent verification documents, as needed.

Acceptable forms of documentation include:

  • Marriage license for spouse
  • Domestic partner attestation
  • Birth certificate for children
  • Court-ordered guardianship papers, adoption papers or placement letter
  • Divorce decree to show parent/child relationship when names don’t match or to identify responsibility for providing health coverage

All benefits-eligible new hires and first-time eligible team members are automatically enrolled in the 401(k) plan at 5% of your earnings after 30 days from your start date, or as soon as administratively practical.
