New family support

Medical coverage

Ready to start or add to your family? ECU Health medical plans provide maternity coverage to support a healthy pregnancy. Fertility benefits are also available. Learn more at Medical Pharmacy | ECU Health Employee Benefits.

Hospital Indemnity Insurance coverage

Out-of-pocket costs from a stay in a hospital can be overwhelming. Hospital Indemnity Insurance pays benefits directly to you for stays, including if you or your spouse are hospitalized for childbirth. In addition, your newborn child(ren) may be covered. Learn more about this voluntary coverage by visiting Voluntary Benefits | ECU Health Employee Benefits.

Adoption assistance

Growing your family through adoption? You can be reimbursed up to $2,500 per child (max $5,000 per year) in eligible expenses. For eligibility information, visit the ECU Health Service Center.

Leave

Want time to bond with your new baby? Need to step away from work to care for a family member? Visit PolicyStat to learn about your leave options.

Taxes

Having a baby or adopting a child allows you to open or add to a Dependent Daycare Flexible Spending Account (FSA). This account lets you pay for day care with pre-tax dollars, so you keep more of your paycheck after taxes.
