Voluntary benefits through Voya offer financial protection beyond your medical coverage in the event of unexpected injury, serious illness or hospitalization.
Payments come directly to you to cover any out-of-pocket expenses, like copays, coinsurance or groceries.
No medical questions or tests are required for coverage. Policy coverage applies on or after the coverage effective date.
Accident Insurance
If you experience an injury off the job, Voya Accident Insurance can protect you. You’ll receive a payment to help you pay out-of-pocket expenses for services like X-rays and physical therapy, or even daily expenses like gas and rent. Coverage is also available for your spouse and children.
Critical Illness Insurance
Should you, your covered spouse or child(ren) experience a critical illness, there may be related expenses not covered by your medical insurance. With Voya’s Critical Illness coverage, payments are made directly to you to use as you see fit.
Common diagnosed conditions like heart attack, cancer, stroke and other unexpected medical conditions are covered under the benefit. Spouses can elect 50% of the team member’s coverage amount. Child(ren) coverage is automatically included at 50% of the team member’s benefit amount.
Hospital Indemnity Insurance
Hospital Indemnity Insurance with Voya is designed to provide financial assistance when you or a covered family member is hospitalized. Under the benefit, you’ll receive an amount for the first day of hospital admission, and as your stay continues, a fixed daily payment.
The benefit covers a hospital or an intensive care unit admission. ECU Health team members will receive a 50% additional benefit if treatment is sought at an ECU Health Facility. You can use this payment to cover any out-of-pocket expenses.

Wellness Benefit pays you!
Each of these benefits provides an annual Wellness Benefit payment of $75 if you or a covered spouse completes one covered wellness screening per year.
Plus, each covered child who completes an annual screening receives $75. Once completed, file your claim electronically to receive your payment.
