There’s one thing we can always count on — change. Big changes, like getting married or becoming a parent, let you update your benefits during the year.

These changes are called Qualified Life Events (QLEs). They include:

  • Getting a divorce.
  • You, your spouse or your dependent losing or gaining coverage under a different plan.
  • Your spouse or dependent passing away.
  • Your spouse or dependent losing eligibility or becoming newly eligible for ECU Health coverage.

Consider this

Medical, dental and vision coverage are usually top of mind, but remember:

Make Your Changes

Visit myhr.ECUHealth.org, click on the Benefits Enrollment (with the bswift logo) tile, then click on “Birth, Marriage or Other Life Event” under Common Actions. Documentation must be supplied to verify eligibility for the changes requested.

You have 30 days to make changes to your benefits. If you miss the deadline, your current coverage will stay the same for the rest of the year.

You can make changes during the next Annual Enrollment window, but those changes won’t take effect until the following Jan. 1.
